Understanding Anxiety: A Doctor's Guide for Patients

  • Panic Disorder: Recurrent, unexpected panic attacks and fear of having more attacks.
  • Social Anxiety Disorder: Intense fear of social situations and being judged by others.
  • Specific Phobias: Extreme fear of a specific object or situation.
  • Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD): Recurrent, unwanted thoughts (obsessions) and/or repetitive behaviors (compulsions).
  • Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD): Anxiety following exposure to a traumatic event.

Symptoms of Anxiety
