Dr. Miguel De La Mora, DNP, PMHNP-BC is a University of Texas-trained board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner. He graduated from The University of Texas Houston Health Science Center with a Doctorate in Nursing Practice and a specialty in psychiatry. He completed his psychiatry clinical rotations at UTHealth Houston Harris County Psychiatric Center, Houston Methodist Hospital, Houston Behavioral Healthcare Hospital, Psychiatry of Texas, Synapse Psychiatry and Turning Point Psychiatry. He completed his doctoral research project on post-stroke depression and post-stroke anxiety.
Dr. De La Mora believes true long-term health happens when we use many tools at the same time which include medications, psychotherapy, sleep hygiene, adequate nutrition, sufficient exercise, social connection and mindfulness techniques. He uses these tools and many other evidence-based interventions to bring happiness, enthusiasm, resilience, and optimism to the lives of his patient and their loved ones.
Dr. De La Mora philosophy is to treat the root cause affecting his patients' lives not just symptom management. His goal with each patient is to help them reach their full potential and thrive in every facet of their lives. He treats patients with ADHD, Anxiety, Bipolar, Depression, Eating Disorders, Sleep, Sexual Dysfunction, Substance Abuse & Weight Loss.
Dr. De La Mora grew up in the Yakima Valley on a family farm before moving to Tri-Cities for some time. He found his way to Texas for career and educational purposes. He knew after completing his studies in Houston that he would return to Washington state to help treat patients and enjoy all the great things Washington has to offer. When he is not helping patients, he enjoys outdoor activities and spending time with family and friends.
Dr. De La Mora currently practices at Samaritian Healthcare and accepts insurance and private pay.
